Ep1.png

Tyler talks about what happens in the body during a common cold, which is much more dynamic of a process than people think, and Spencer talks about some alternative and natural medicines that work and don't work, including a social media influencer that may have led cancer victims to their deaths.

Ep2.png

In this episode, Tyler introduces everyone to a mysterious encephalitis pandemic from over 100 years ago, discussing the disease phases, symptoms, classifications, post mortem findings, and other characteristics of the epidemic that gives clues as to the potential causes (which will be discussed in part 2, next episode). Also, Spencer introduces us to some of his favorite minerals and gemstones, including bumblebee jasper,  malachite, rhodochrosite, tourmaline, chalcanthite, fulgurite, and moldavite. He includes descriptions of the minerals as well as how they form, their toxicity, and other interesting factoids.

Ep3.png

In this episode, Tyler finishes up the encephalitis lethargica topic by describing the various causative agent theories and briefly touching on the challenges of treating this mystery ailment. Spencer introduces everyone to a bit of quantum physics by describing the elusive nature of neutrinos and one of the most famous neutrino detectors, the Super-Kamiokande (Super-K)- a remarkable, super-pure water-filled sphere of photodetectors in Japan.
